🖥️ User Agent Parser

Parse User-Agent strings to extract browser, operating system, and device information — all in your browser, no upload.

About the User Agent Parser

This parser runs entirely in your browser. Paste a User-Agent string (or click Use My UA to load your current browser's string) and the tool extracts the browser, engine, operating system, and device type. Nothing is uploaded to a server — all parsing happens with JavaScript on your device.

What is detected

  • Browser — Name and version, e.g. Chrome 120, Firefox 121, Safari 17.
  • Engine — Rendering engine and version, e.g. Blink, Gecko, WebKit.
  • OS — Operating system and version, e.g. Windows 10, macOS 14, Android 13, iOS 17.
  • Device type — Desktop, Mobile, Tablet, or Bot, based on keywords in the string.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the detection? The parser uses common keyword and regex patterns. It covers the major browsers and operating systems but may not detect very new or obscure ones correctly.

Can User-Agent strings be spoofed? Yes. User-Agent strings are client-controlled and can be changed, so treat the results as hints rather than ground truth.

Is my string uploaded anywhere? No. Parsing is local and your input never leaves the browser.
